Zeta - The George Washington University
This past semester we have had a couple exciting sisterhood events! In the fall, we had a field day on the National Mall. At our sisterhood field day, we had tug-of-war, egg tossing, and pie eating competitions. It was a great day with tons of bonding and lots of laughs. Then, after an exciting recruitment, we got to know our phenomenal New Member class by having a fun-filled sisterhood day at the National Zoo.
Recruitment was such a great experience this past semester. And on Bid Day, we were lucky enough to welcome 53 amazing New Members to the Zeta Chapter. We have done so many incredible things with our philanthropies this semester. We had our annual Ultra Violet Days competition where we hosted our SK5K open to the entire George Washington University community, a Dodgeball tournament, Skit Night and an eating contest. We had such a fun time at all of the events as well as raising money for Alzheimer's Research. In order to honor RespΣΚt, we held our annual "Have a Nice Day, Love Sigma K" event. At this event, we sold Root Beer Floats for 50 cents. We educated others about the movement and all the money that we earned was donated to the American Cancer Society. We are also so proud of our intramural soccer team for making it to the league playoffs! Finally, we recently elected new officers for the 2013 school year! They have already started planning exciting philanthropy and social events for the year. We can't wait for our Sigmalypics philanthropy event or our "My Tie" crush party next semester. We are anticipating a wonderful semester! |
